Then Denise Douse, who played Mrs. Teasley, and now I am very sad to say that Joe E Tata passed away,” he began. announced.

“I remember seeing it in The Rockford Files, with James Garner, years before we worked together on 90210. He was often one of the background villains in the original series of Batman. One of the happiest people I have ever worked with, he was as generous with her wisdom as he was with her kindness,” he continued.

“The set of Beverly Hills 90210, often felt like the backdrop to the Joe E. Tata show. The stories of days gone by that he shared, the incredible experiences in the entertainment industry that he was a part of kept us all enthralled. He may have been in the back of a lot of scenes, but he was a leading force, especially for us guys, because he taught us to appreciate the gift that the show was. My smile darkens today, but enjoying good memories moves it from my eyes to my heart, where it will always be. My sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone else he loved as well. Rest in peace Joey”, concluded the actor.

Jennie Garth, Kelly Taylor in the series, also used her networks to remember him. The actress shared a recent photo with Tata and Tori Spelling. “Another great loss for our family today. I have a very sad heart, but I will always remember that smile and that mischievous and loving laugh. I feel like there is a reunion party at the Peach Pit – the bar that Tata’s character owned in the series – in heaven and I take comfort in knowing that one day there will be a seat for me surrounded by my dear friends. Sending hugs to everyone who loved Joey today. The loss is so hard…” he wrote.

One of the personalities who commented on her publication was Lindsay Price, the actress who lent her body to Janet Sosna during the last three seasons of the series. “Oh… it’s so sad! He was the best,” she replied, along with a broken heart emoji.

Jason Priestley also paid tribute to him. “Today we lost my dear friend Joe E. Tata. Nat Busiccio was a big part of Beverly Hills 90210 and Joey has a great place in my life. Rest in peace Joe. There will never be another like you,” he expressed.

Tori Spelling, in turn, also dedicated an extensive message to him. “We lost our family and good friend Joe E. Tata, one of the kindest, funniest, most professional and amazing human beings I have ever had the pleasure of working with and most importantly someone who became a friend. in my whole life,” he said.

He continued, “I never saw him without a big smile on his face. His humor was unique and his delivery was always spot on. She made long work days seem short. He was the best professional. I loved hearing the amazing stories he told. He gave us his beautiful vision of old Hollywood! He knew everyone and was friends with everyone. I never met anyone who didn’t love him.”

“This natural and talented storyteller, this incredibly special and warm human being, with the kindest eyes, always reminded me of my dad. They were so alike! That, in hindsight, makes sense: these two special men walked me down the aisle… My dad in real life at my first wedding, and Joey, Nat, with my Donna at 90210. And she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. In fact, I asked our writers to have Nat walk Donna down the aisle. It meant a lot to me. Personally and professionally. Based on our close friendship in real life and the fact that he was such a fun, caring, loyal and protective masculine role model to me. That was how it should be. I’ve included the scene on this carousel where Donna asks Nat to walk her down the aisle. It’s pretty obvious the love we had for each other on and off screen!” she revealed.

“From parties at the Playboy Mansion to lunches in his dressing room with so many laughs shared with Kathleen Roberts. Joey was the best. And laughter wasn’t his only strength. He always communicated with me and he was very protective. When he was young and I got into not-so-great relationships, he always instinctively knew when he was sad. He’d come up to me, put his hands on my shoulder, lean over and say, ‘Tor, are you okay? Do I need to kick someone’s ass?’ And he knew he would do it in a heartbeat for me! He would have done anything for any of us. It was special for each of us! So grateful that we all got to see Joey over the years. Face-to-face and more recently by Zoom. He had so much pride! I’m glad he’s finally at peace. Joey has a drink with my dad!” he finished.

Kathleen Robertson, the actress who played Clare Arnold for four seasons, read the message and attested to the days with pure laughter: “Yes. So many amazing memories with Joe. From day one, he always made me feel like he supported me. And so many laughs!” she commented, alongside two hearts. Christine Elise, the arsonist and rebel Emily Valentine, also showed her regret for the news on her networks. Alongside an image of her with the actor, Spelling, Ziering and Garth, she stated: “We lost Joe E. Tata today. A very sad day for the family 90210. Rest in peace Joe.”

While Shannen Doherty limited herself to sharing the screenshot of one of the scenes she shared with Tata in an Instagram story, Brian Austin Green also dedicated a heartfelt message to her: “A friend of mine sent me this video of the live event we did at Torrance High School a few years ago. Thanks. Joey was a member of the family and we will miss him, but we will remember him fondly, “he assured, next to the clip that portrays a long and tight hug with his colleague. ️

While the cause of death has not been publicly announced, Deadline reported that the actor had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2018.
