YO Mobile closes its operations in Mexico. The company has announced in their social networks who is leaving Mexico as an indirect consequence of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine that has been unfolding for months in Eastern Europe.

According to the virtual mobile operator, most of its team lived and worked in Ukraine and Belarus, which is why “made it particularly difficult” raise the capital needed to continue “paying the bills”.

Adam Kidron, Founder and CEO of YO Mobilesays that as a result of OMV’s constant promotions and gifts, 80% of their subscribers had free or discounted services, while the company paid the bills. So, with the arrival of the war between Russia and Ukraine, getting enough income to continue maintaining the service became increasingly complicated because, says Kidron, “we were not yet financially self-sufficient”.

Even so, the CEO goes on to explain, in order not to interrupt customer service, YO Mobile was negotiating a deal for 10 weeks with a “new and better financed operator”. However, for reasons beyond the company’s control, such treatment “collapse”. So, after the failure of all the work of the last few weeks, YO Mobile sees the need to close its telephone services in Mexico.

The CEO assures that the YO Mobile customer service team “will be on guard” for support all users with their porting as soon as possibleso they will not lose their phone number with the cessation of operations.

Finally, Kidron thanks all users for “Your loyalty and for being part of our history”, and apologizes for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. Furthermore, he mentions that if the OMV finds a way to have “a second life”hopes to make YOYO$ worthwhile for users.
