During broadcasts of NXT Deadline through Peacock and WWE Network, the team of The New Day managed to obtain the NXT Couples Championships after defeating Pretty Deadly.
This was the third matchup of the WWE NXT Premium Live Event day at the Performance Center. The two teams staged a fight with several humorous moments that did not overshadow the even action between those involved. Despite receiving an illegal attack, Kofi and Xavier managed to recover to connect their Midnight Hour and obtain the victory by count of three.
Thus, The New Day win the NXT Tag Team Championshipsbeing his first time with the titles. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods achieve the triple crown after his past victories on RAW and SmackDown. Pretty Deadly earned these belts 97 days ago and three defenses at NXT Worlds Collide 2022. Elton Prince and Kit Wilson defeated The Creed Brothers, Jensen & Briggs and Gallus on September 25 at Premium Live Event to claim these titles for the second time.
Once the show was over, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were interviewed behind the scenes, where they recalled that they have obtained all the company’s couples titles. In fact, Kofi Kingston managed to break an important company record. With this victory, the fighter became the superstar with the most reigns as a couple in history, adding a total of 15 ostentations and surpassing Booker T and Edge.
