In social networks actress Halle Bailey was attacked and received racist comments from fans of this story, because they claim the company is making a forced inclusion by choosing a young African American for this role that we met in a cartoon as a white-skinned redheaded mermaid.


The actress’s response came this Thursday when she shared on her social networks a compilation of videos in which you can see little African Americans excited to see a mermaid with the same skin tone, she also thanked all the people who already supported.

It seems that the problem escalated, and several sources report that company executives are contemplating whether to cancel the premiere of The little Mermaid in movie theaters around the world and only limit it to the Disney plus streaming platform.


According to what was reported, the producers of the film are contemplating this action, due to the reactions and social networks, in addition to the fact that the official trailer has accumulated a large number of “dislikes” in Youtube.

Executives don’t want another box office flop like Lightyearso they could cancel the premiere to avoid another scandal like the one that arose with said film.
