Specialty consultations increase in states incorporated into the IMSS Well-being Health Plan

Specialty medical consultations in Baja California Sur, Campeche, Colima, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Sonora and Tlaxcala increased after joining the IMSS Well-being Health Plan, highlighted the general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute, Zoé Robledo Aburto.

In a morning press conference with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the official said that, as a result of a greater allocation of resources to the health sector, productivity increased in Colima, 239 percent; Nayarit, 203 percent; Sinaloa, 179 percent; Sonora, 65 percent; Baja California Sur, 50 percent; Tlaxcala, 38 percent and Campeche, 20 percent.

The reported medical specialties are Geriatrics and Gerontology; Dermatology, Allergology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Cardiology and Internal Medicine.

The IMSS director referred to other factors that contribute to expanding and improving care coverage, such as recruitment through national calls and the Cuban Specialist Medical Program, which currently registers a total of 552 workers in Baja California Sur, Campeche, Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Sonora, Tlaxcala, Veracruz and Zacatecas.
