Sami Callihan could end his adventure in Impact Wrestling very soon. This has been confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp, a Fightful journalist, in the last few hours. The Ohio fighter signed a contract extension in 2021, a deal that will end in the coming weeks.

“Fightful Select has learned that former IMPACT World Champion Sami Callihan has a contract with IMPACT Wrestling that is set to expire in the next few months,” Sapp wrote. “Callihan was also set to become a free agent in early 2021, but signed a two-year contract extension that kept him with IMPACT through 2022. We have followed up with IMPACT sources and Callihan himself, but have not been told. given no clarity on his status.”

We can confirm that at least Callihan’s contract situation has caught the interest of outside promoters. Callihan is a successful promoter, making Pro Wrestling REVOLVER one of the leading independent companies on the planet.”

Callihan himself was the one who gave the news of its renewal in 2021 by posting on Twitter. “Today I COULD have been a FREE AGENT,” Sami Callihan wrote on his official Twitter account. “Just re-SIGNED with @IMPACTWRESTLING, 2 years for a LOT of money. Got other offers… but I don’t give a damn. This is MY company. I made this company. I’m going to be champion again in 2021.”

That publication occurred on January 1, 2021, which could mean the current deal will end on January 1, 2023. Callihan has continued to be a very important figure in IMPACT Wrestling, and has even been a part of the main event at their PPV shows. He is currently part of a rivalry against the stable The Design.
