Nephew of “El Narco de Narcos” operates from Veracruz and is protected by Cisneros: Ricardo Ravelo

The Secretary of the Government of Veracruz, Eric Cisneros Burgos, is under surveillance by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) of the United States because he maintains a relationship with drug trafficker José Gil Caro Quintero, alias “El Pelo Chino”, whom he protects so that he can operate from the entity and eventually finance his political future.

He stated so in his column the journalist specialized in drug trafficking issues Ricardo Ravelo, who assures that this was reported to him by a high command of the DEA during a conversation that took place last October in Washington, United States.

José Gil Caro Quintero, he explains, is the nephew of Rafael Caro Quintero, “El Narco de Narcos”, arrested last July and whom he replaced to direct the Caborca ​​Cartel, which maintains drug transfer operations in Sonora, Sinaloa, Baja California , Oaxaca and Quintana Roo.

According to Ravelo, Cisneros maintains a relationship with the drug trafficker in order to “make his way to the Governor’s Office or the Senate of the Republic,” since he could finance his campaign.

“Cisneros Burgos, nicknamed ‘El Bola Ocho’, has been publicly linked to the successor of Caro Quintero, an emblematic capo (…) who found a foothold in Veracruz, particularly in the north of that entity, where he has ranches and other properties,” he writes.

According to the journalist, intelligence reports detail that the area of ​​refuge for José Gil Caro Quintero is the municipalities of Vega de Alatorre, Náutla, San Rafael and Martínez de la Torre, “a corridor widely used by organized crime.”

Ravelo assures that it is for this reason that the Secretary of Government maintains a constant presence in the Vega de Alatorre region, where he supposedly met with Caro Quintero on October 14, where he went with the excuse of inaugurating a tourist corridor.

“Beyond the event, the visit, they say, was a key pretext for Cisneros Burgos to meet with José Gil Quintero. The meeting with the underworld character would have several purposes: to analyze his situation in the area, his institutional protection and talk about future projects: The General Secretary of the Government of Cuitláhuac García aspires to be governor of Veracruz in 2024 and is already working on it , it is affirmed”, publishes Ravelo.

The journalist even assures that the official “usually lives frequently” with the drug trafficker.

“Eric Cisneros always looks for any excuse to travel to Vega de Alatorre and thus be close to Gil Caro Quintero’s fiefdom. Through his channel ‘Orgullo Veracruzano’, he has even promoted that municipality with various reports on its tourist attractions, among others, its traditional cuisine”.

It exemplifies that the official dedicated a report to the cheeses of the La Reforma community, in the same municipality, and even his personal Facebook page “is saturated with mentions of Vega de Alatorre.”

“And it is that beyond the attractiveness of the cheeses and the tourist corridor there is an important fact: near La Reforma is one of the ranches where, according to intelligence reports, ‘El Pelo Chino’ takes refuge; from that point submerged in clandestinity and under official protection, drug trafficking would be operating on a large scale, as well as violence in a good part of the country.”

The journalist assures that other ranches located by the DEA are located in the demarcations of Juan Martín and Loma Bonita.

“In Veracruz the capo enjoys total impunity. Against Gil Caro Quintero, operations, searches and everything that could disturb the drug businessman are prohibited. In short, the head of the organization that is based in Sonora is untouchable in Veracruz.”

Likewise, Ravelo assures that he questioned a US agent in Washington if they have “under their sights the Secretary of Government of Veracruz.”

“For more than a year we have reports of their activities that attract attention. We are analyzing everything that happens with the successor to Caro Quintero and in this process we have encountered surprises such as this broad institutional protection that the character receives not only in Veracruz but in all the states where he operates, ”he replied.
