In the lower part, Cruz Azul, Pumas and Atlas remain. The current two-time champions are about to lose their playoff chances after another defeat. Check here the numbers and complete statistics of the contest at the moment.

General table of the Apertura 2022, Matchday 14

For the third consecutive date, América and Monterrey continue at the top of the classification. Both squads add 31 points and they are about to secure their direct ticket to the quarterfinals of this competition. The goal difference favors the Eagles, who also have a less disputed game than the Monterrey team. Those led by Fernando Ortiz already have nine consecutive victories to stay on top. Completing the top 4, we have Pachuca with 28 and Santos Laguna with 26 units. Both the Guerreros and the Tuzos refuse to leave the upper part in search of the best possible position for the Mexican soccer league.

Topping the playoff zone we still have Tigres and Toluca with 24 and 23 points respectively. Both the UANL and the Devils could not add victories this weekend and were left without the opportunity to return to the top. Close behind are Chivas with 22 units. Guadalajara added its fifth victory of the campaign and the combination of results maintains its chances of fighting for one of the four places in the quarterfinals and avoiding reclassification. Atlético de San Luis would be the fourth team that would be playing at home. León, Necaxa, Puebla and Xolos de Tijuana complete the list of the 12 best, leaving the points barrier at 16 to separate those who would be in the postseason from those who would not.

Mazatlan left the playoff zone again and is now in 13th place with 15 units and tied with Cruz Azul. Goal difference keeps La Maquina below the sluggers. Pumas follow after rescuing a draw in the final moments and reaching 14 points. FC Juárez is second to last with 13. Atlas has only added 10 points and is about to be eliminated after being two-time champion the previous semester. The red and black will not be able to defend their crown. Finally, the basement once again belongs to Querétaro, who no longer has any mathematical chance of making the postseason.
