In your official account Twitter, Kevin Owens published a photo of his fight against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in the main event of WrestleMania 38: Saturday. Due to Owens’ friendship with The Young Bucks, and the fact that Punk was never able to main event WWE, many fans considered it to be a jab at the AEW Champion.
Last night, after the PPV of All Elite Wrestling, all-out, CM Punk took the floor in a Press conference and pointed against Adam “Hangman” Page Already elite for filtering the problems in the locker room with people outside the company. Furthermore, he revived his old feud with Colt Cabanawith whom went to trial some years ago.
Kevin Owens has a great friendship with the Jackson brothers, Matt and Nick. A few months ago, Owens assured that the Bucks, along with Cody Rhodes, they have changed the industry for the better. Something that denoted their good relationship both outside and inside the ring. Kevin’s post was taken as a hint to Punk, since he could never be a WWE main eventand that was one of the causes that generated his departure from the company eight years ago.
In an interview for the podcast of Konnan, “Keepin’ It 100 with Konnan”producer Joe Feeney revealed that there were some tensions between Owens and Punk in the past, when they both competed in Ring of Honor in the year 2005. According to Feeney: “Owens was trying to be a more regular competitor in ROH, but that Punk, being a locker room leader and important weight in the company, I was putting obstacles. As it happened with Eddie Kingston, Punk didn’t like his shape and wanted that will fight with a t-shirt“.
“In a fight against Vordell Walker, Owens competed with a shirt and commented that he did not feel comfortable with them. To which when he arrived in the locker room he looked at Punk and he said ironically: ‘And? You are already happy?’“However, Feeney assured that it did not happen from that at that time.
