The Mazda2 prepares an update with a retouched image, new colors and versions
The Mazda2 is a key product of the brand in many markets, in Mexico has a special mission, because if you remember, it even lowered its price for 2023. A few minutes ago, from Japan they have leaked images of what appears to be a new update for this very popular model, slightly change the image, add new colors and versions.

Photos of what appear to be brochures intended for brand agencies with images of this Mazda2 update. In broad strokes we notice a larger grill, a slight retouching in the headlights and a new shape for the fascia in the lower area.
Two new colors seem to be added to the update, the Airstream Blue Metallic and Aero Gray Metallic. In addition to this, it seems that at least in Japan, Mazda will add two new versions called: Sport and Sport+.
These new variants will carry the black grill with a red “Sport” badging, red accents and a black contrast roof. Plus new wheel designs up to 16″.
The most accessible models will have the practically covered grill by a panel in the color of the body, with which its image will be very reminiscent of an electric car. It must be made clear that this is only an aesthetic detail, since the Mazda2 will continue to move exclusively with combustion engines.
The brochure refers to the atmospheric engine of 4 cylinders that we already know, the 1.5 liter with 110 hp and 106 lb-ft of torque with the MHEV system. In Japan there is also talk of an engine 1.5 liter diesel.
This leak occurs just one day before the official launch of the update in Japan, which will happen tomorrow, Friday. January 27th.
