Rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez supervised the progress of the remodeling works of the MED2, MED3 and MED5 buildings of the Faculty of Medicine, which will respond to the needs expressed by the students of this academic unit.

The works consist of the renovation of electrical, hydraulic and sanitary installations; placement of new luminaires, change of floors, replacement of windows, doors and aluminum gates, as well as demolition and placement of walls to make the spaces more functional.

In order not to hinder academic activities, since the face-to-face return to classes is confirmed for February 7, the remodeling work will continue during holiday periods. The equipping of these properties will be carried out gradually.

The works also include replacement of prefabricated waterproofing and damaged bathroom furniture, painting on walls and ceilings, construction of a metal structure staircase with a reinforced concrete foundation, to have better access and exit from the MED5 building.

The community area adjacent to buildings MED1, MED2 and MED3 was remodeled; Concrete and table tennis tables were demolished, as well as flower boxes, which were replaced by eight concrete tables with electrical installations and canvas umbrellas, as well as two new table tennis tables.

The integral remodeling will benefit an enrollment of 9,000 students from seven educational programs of this faculty.
