The Brazilian Police arrested the alleged drug trafficker of a favela in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday night, while watching a soccer game in the stadium maracanaOfficial sources reported this Thursday.
Marco Aurelio dos Santos Rochaknown as the “foka“, was approached by the agents in the stands of the Rio fiefdom, during the second leg of the Brazilian Cup between Fluminense and Fortaleza (2-2)said the Military Police on their social networks.
At the time of his arrest, “foka“, accused of controlling drug trafficking in the community of Castelar, a deprived area of the metropolitan region of Rio, was wearing a T-shirt Fluminense with his nickname stamped on the number, according to images broadcast by local media.
He was considered a fugitive from justice, since two prison orders weighed on him in cases related to drug trafficking.
The authorities also accuse him of various homicides in the region.
Rio de Janeiro suffers high rates of violence, fueled by conflicts between drug gangs and vigilante groups for control of various areas of what is the most touristic city in the country.
